ふうしゅん
Fushun, a medium-season variety, has a harvest period 1.5 days later than Yabukita on average, with characteristic rich aroma and strong umami. It is extremely robust with strong tree vigor, growing 15% taller and 20% wider in canopy spread by the fifth year after planting. It has strong cold resistance and anthracnose resistance, with higher yields than Yabukita for both first and second flush teas. Overall quality is equivalent to Yabukita, making it a robust, high-yielding variety suitable for plains and mountainous areas west of Kanto and cool regions of eastern Japan.
