Description

Yumewakaba is a medium-season new tea variety developed in Saitama Prefecture, selected from a cross between Yabukita and Saitama 9. The harvest period is 1-2 days later than Yabukita, with equivalent growth and yield. Its greatest feature is excellent cold resistance, with strong resistance to red blight and laceration-type frost damage, making it suitable for cool tea production areas like Kanto. Additionally, lightly withering the tea leaves improves aroma and taste. It produces a light osmanthus-like aroma and sweet fragrance.
